AZUSA, Calif. – Both Lewis-Clark State College tennis teams were defeated by Azusa Pacific University on Thursday. Playing the NAIA’s fifth ranked team, the LCSC fell 8-1, while the women played the sixth ranked Azusa women and fell 9-0.
The Warrior men, ranked No. 23, earned its one point via Oliver Stone Sindayigaya’s win at No. 4. Sindayigaya (photo) defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-3. Cesar Uauy (No. 5) and Victor Garcia Barcina (No. 6) came close to winning matches for LCSC as they both forced their contests to three sets.
On the women’s side, only Elaine Lee was able to win a set for the No. 17 Warriors and force a tiebreak.
The losses bump the men to 7-12 and the women to 3-7.
