The Lewis-Clark State College women’s tennis team climbed two spots to No. 15, while the women’s team moved up three positions to No. 20 in the NAIA Tennis Coaches’ Top 25 polls, which were released on Tuesday.
The Warrior women’s team, ranked 17th in the previous poll, knocked off previous No. 14 Westmont 6-3 last week in its spring road trip to California. The victory moved the Warriors ahead of Westmont, which is now No. 18 in the NAIA.
The Warrior women have 223 points and trail No. 14 Lee by just nine points. Auburn Montgomery continues to hold down the top spot in the poll.
The Warrior men lost all four of their matches against top-ranked NAIA schools, but played well enough to move up in the polls as well. LCSC received 165 votes in the poll, just two points behind No. 19 Bethel. Fresno Pacific leads the men’s poll, while Auburn Montgomery second.
The LCSC women resume action with a big weekend of play this week. LCSC plays host to Southern Oregon on Thursday at 3 p.m., Montana State-Billings at 5 p.m. on Friday, and College of Idaho at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Southern Oregon drew votes in the poll.
