BOZEMAN, Mont. – The Lewis-Clark State College men’s tennis team came close to upsetting NCAA Division I Montana State University on Friday evening, but the Bobcats did just enough to prevail 4-3.
After being swept in doubles play, LCSC, now 4-3 on the season, made it interesting by winning three of the six singles matches.
Ivan Krijanto, playing at No. 2, won his match 7-6, 6-4; Oliver Sindayigaya won 4-6, 6-0, 10-8 at No. 5; and Tyler Oram won the No. 6 match 7-5, 6-3.
LCSC’s Anders Tischer put up a good fight at No. 1, as did Cesar Uauy at No. 3. Uauy took his match to three sets, but fell 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
The Warriors, ranked No. 16 in the latest NAIA poll, continue play on Saturday with a 9 a.m. match against MSU-Billings, and then a 2 p.m. tilt with Seattle University.
