AZUSA, Calif. – The Lewis-Clark State College men’s and women’s tennis teams found out why the Azusa Pacific tennis teams are ranked in the NAIA top five on Monday as the Warrior teams fell to the Cougars to start LCSC’s annual California spring break trip.

The APU men, ranked No. 4 in the NAIA, defeated the 15^th-ranked Warriors 6-3, while the Cougar women, ranked No. 5, defeated the No. 19-ranked Warriors 7-2.

In the men’s match, APU improved to 8-3 overall by winning four of the six singles matches. LCSC, now 6-4 overall, picked up three-set victories in singles play from Oliver Sindayigaya and Nic Tweedy. Lincoln Gay and Cesar Uauy also picked up a victory for LCSC in doubles play.

On the women’s side, APU swept five of the six singles matches to improve to 11-1 overall and drop LCSC to 3-8.

Barb Sneckner picked up LCSC’s win in singles play with a three-set win, while the doubles team of Dorothy Chong and Dominika Jasova also won.
