IRVINE, Calif. – The Lewis-Clark State College men’s and women’s tennis teams continued to find the competition tough on its annual road trip to California when the highly ranked Concordia University squads defeated the Warriors on Wednesday.
Despite winning two singles matches in convincing fashion, the Warrior women lost to 10th-ranked Concordia 6-3, while the men fell to the ninth-ranked Eagles 7-2.
LCSC has lost to Azusa Pacific, Point Loma and Concordia during the road trip and all six teams are ranked 10th or higher in their respective NAIA polls. The trip doesn’t get any easier for LCSC as it takes on Vanguard (women ranked seventh and men 13th) on Thursday.
Against Concordia, Dominika Jasova and Chelsey Gay picked up straight set wins for the Warriors, and Gay also combined with Barb Sneckner for a doubles victory.
On the men’s side, Anders Tischer picked up a three-set victory in singles play, while the doubles team of Cesar Uauy and Lincoln Gay also picked up a victory.
