MOSCOW – Dominika Jasova and Chelsea Gay both picked up singles victories to highlight the day for the Lewis-Clark State College women’s tennis team in its 5-2 setback to the University of Idaho on Saturday.
The Warriors fell to 0-9 on the season against NCAA Division I competition, but played Idaho tougher this time around. Back in February, the Warriors were shutout 7-0.
Jasova, a freshman from Kosice, Slovakia, scored a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Vicky Lozano at No. 1 singles, while Gay, a senior from The Dalles, Ore., defeated Jana Siwa 6-4, 6-4.
The Warriors will play Bellevue Community College on Sunday and Spokane Falls Community College on Monday, both in exhibition play.
