The Lewis-Clark State College men’s tennis team will open against Lindsey Wilson College of Columbia, Kent., at the NAIA Men’s Tennis National Championships next Tuesday in Mobile, Ala.
The Warriors, ranked No. 19 in the final NAIA poll, were the final team to receive an at-large berth to the 24-team single-elimination tournament on Monday. LCSC, 10-8 overall, finished second in its qualifying tournament and received an at-large berth based on the final poll.
It will be LCSC’s 12th straight appearance to nationals, which ties it for most under the current format. Overall, it’s the 21st year LCSC has qualified for nationals.
Lindsey Wilson, ranked No. 14 in the final NAIA poll, brings a 14-5 record into 24-team single-elimination tournament. The Blue Raiders won the Appalachian Athletic Conference/Mid-South Conference tournament to earn an automatic berth to nationals. It will be Lindsey Wilson’s eighth appearance at nationals.

The 24-team field is comprised of 12 squads who earned an automatic berth by winning their respective conference/independent/unaffiliated group tournament, 11 at-large selections and one host berth. The nine at-large selections were determined by the final NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 poll.
The tournament will commence with eight first-round matchups on Tuesday starting at 7 a.m. PDT. The top eight seeds receive a first-round bye and will begin action on May 18 at 7 a.m.
