SPOKANE, Wash. – The No. 15-ranked Lewis-Clark State College men’s tennis team made quick work of Whitworth University on Friday afternoon at the Scotford Tennis Center. The Warriors took down the Pirates 8-1 in their first outdoor match of the season.
LCSC, which improves to 3-1, swept the singles matches and took two of the three doubles contests. Whitworth, an NCAA Division III school, falls to 2-8 with the loss.
The Warriors only defeat came at No. 1 doubles and by a competitive score of 8-5.
Sam Tozer, the Warriors’ usually No. 2, sat out on Friday because of a back injury.
The team’s next match will come at home against Spokane Falls Community College on Tuesday. It will begin at 5 p.m. at the LCSC Tennis Center.
