Hantau, Astle, and
Perkins all have high
finishes at WSU indoor
meet

PULLMAN, Wash. – Lewis-Clark
State College’s Calin Hantau,
Kylie Astle and Emily
Perkins all posted solid
times in running events
during the two-day
Washington State University
Indoor Track and Field meet,
which wrapped up on
Saturday.
Hantau, a senior from
Sighisora, Romania, finished
second in the 3,000 meters
in a school-record time of 8
minutes, 46.52 seconds,
while teammate Eric Tuwei, a
sophomore from Kenya, was
sixth in 9:12:27.
Perkins, a senior from
Forks, Wash., was fourth in
the mile run in a
school-record indoor time of
5:36.36, and also was fifth
in the 3,000 meters behind
teammate Astle, a sophomore
from Shoshone, Idaho.
Astle’s time was 11:06.67,
which is also a school
record, while Perkins
crossed the line in
11:14.42.
In the men’s mile, LCSC’s
Hassan Khalif was 13th in
4:43.75, while senior Jeff
Dukleth was 25th in 5:32.86.
The meet was
the final indoor one of the
season for the Warriors.
LCSC will open the outdoor
season in mid-March in a
pair of meetings in Oregon.
