Smith, a freshman from Everett, Wash., blew away the competition with a throw of 38. 9 meters. The second place finisher threw 36.51, while teammate BreAnne Baird finished fourth with a distance of 33.57.
Smith also had a strong showing in the shot put as she claimed second with a toss of 10.94.
In the javelin, Ali Super, a freshman from Portland, Ore., brought home another second-place finish for the Warriors. Super reached 45.76 and was followed by teammates Melissa Neuman who claimed fourth with a throw of 35.61 and Nicole Hardisty who tallied 29.09m to claim 10th.
In the track portion of the meet, LCSC had multiple runners with top 10 finishes.
On the men’s side, Sean Huey claimed fourth in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:55.70. He was followed by teammates Eric Tuwei and Jake Miller who finished in 10th and 11th and had times of 16:44.64 and 16:48.68, respectively.
In the 800, Jon Dalton finished 10th with a time of 2:06.57.
Kelsey Klettke claimed fifth in the women’s 800. Klettke finished the race in 2:23.47 and was trailed by teammate Sheree Barbour’s ninth-place finish in 2:26.83.
The women’s 5,000 had three Warriors finish in the top 10. Kylie Astle ran the race in a time of 18:52.19 for sixth, Lindsay Szybura finished in 19:06.26 for eighth, and Amanda Palmer claimed 10th with a mark of 20:20.61.
In the dashes, Hardisty ran the 100 in 14:17 to earn seventh and the 200 in 29.70 to claim 10th.
LCSC’s next meet will be at Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane, Wash., on April 25.
