ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Throwers from the Lewis-Clark State College track team fared well at the Spike Arlt Invitational hosted by Central Washington University on Saturday.
LCSC sent only a handful of throwers to Saturday’s meet but came away with multiple top 10 finishes.
Kirsten Smith, a freshman from Everett, Wash., claimed third in the discus with a toss of 39.14 meters. She also finished 10th with a throw of 39.52 in the hammer, and 11th with a 10.7 mark in the shot put.
Also on the women’s side, Melissa Neuman earned sixth-place in the javelin with a throw of 35.1 and was followed by teammate Nicole Hardisty’s throw of 34.32 which was good enough for ninth. Neuman also reached 39.34 in the hammer to claim 11th.
Nathan Uhlorn did well to represent the Warrior men in the shot as he claimed eighth with a throw of 14.11.
Lewis-Clark State’s next scheduled meet is at Spokane Falls Community College on April 25.
