SEATTLE – Kirsten Smith, who is redshirting the indoor portion of the season for Lewis-Clark State College, threw what would have been a Warrior record in the shot put at the University of Washington Open Indoor Meet on Sunday.
Smith finished sixth in the third flight of the shot put with a toss of 40-feet, 7.5 inches, and also was 10th in the weight throw at 43-09.25. The throw came on her third attempt after she scratched on the first two.
Myriah Deeds also competed in the shot put and was sixth in the second flight at 33-10.75.
Jake Meyer was the lone men’s competitor and finished fifth in the weight throw at 39-05.25.
