APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. – Lewis-Clark State College senior Casey Hampton qualified for the NAIA national outdoor meet in the marathon after placing fourth in the half marathon at the 11th annual Lost Dutchman Marathon on Sunday.
Hampton, who is from Bonners Ferry, was timed in 1 hour, 34 minutes and 42 seconds over the 13.1 mile course, which placed her fourth among the women and 33rd among all runners. Her time allows her to become the first Warrior this season to qualify for the NAIA outdoor track and field championships in May.
Former Warrior Adrian Ramirez of Yakima, who was a senior on the 2008 men’s cross country team, placed sixth overall in the marathon portion of the meet in 2:55.10.
