SPOKANE - Lewis-Clark State College sophomore Dave Marks finished second overall, while junior teammate Jimmy Oribo qualified for the NAIA national meet in a second event as both had strong showings in the 5,000-meter run at the Duane Harman Invitational on Friday night.
Marks, who had already qualified for nationals in the 5,000, finished in an unofficial time of 14 minutes and 41 seconds. Official times were not available by press time.
Oribo finished seventh in 14:48, and his time qualifies him for the NAIA national meet.
Also in the 5,000 on Friday, Jake Miller finished in 15:43 for LCSC, while teammates Nick Pierson was at 16:09 and Tommy Bollinger at 17:02.
On the women's side, Samantha was third in her heat in 19:35, while LaDawn Vincent finished in 22:56.
The two-day meet continues on Saturday.
