PULLMAN, Wash. – The Lewis-Clark State College track and field teams had a handful of freshman compete at the 10th annual WSU Open Indoor Meet on Friday and Saturday. Tyler Brackett and John Murray headlined the event for the Warriors by setting two program records.
Brackett, a freshman from Lewiston, reached 12-05.5 in the pole vault to set a new Warrior mark. His score was good enough for ninth overall against multiple NCAA Division-I schools.
John Murray, a freshman from Athol, Idaho, broke the Warrior record in the open weight throw with a toss of 48-00.75. He earned seventh overall.
Tisha Reuben also competed in the weight throw on the women’s side and hit 35-04.5 to claim 10th, and Justin Keller earned 37th in the long jump with a mark of 16-08.5.
LCSC’s next meet will be the University of Idaho Open on Feb. 3-4. The Warriors will send a much fuller version of their roster to this event, including a number of runners.
