The Lewis-Clark State College men’s and women’s track teams have added two freshmen recruits for next year as Josh Christenson of Dallas High in Oregon and Alia LeCroix of Lake City High in Coeur d’Alene have signed letters of intent to compete for the Warriors, LCSC coach Mike Collins has announced.
Christenson is an all-around athlete at Dallas. In track, he has run everything from the 100 to the 3,000 races and also has thrown the javelin. He will likely focus on the 400 hurdles at LCSC, Collins said.
Christenson also was a member of Dallas’ state championship wrestling team and finished third in his weight division at the state meet. He wrestled all four season at Dallas and earned a district title and was a two-time placer at the state meet.
He also played three years on the football team and earned all-league honors twice. He also played baseball one season and competed on the track team all four years.
LaCroix also will compete in cross country at LCSC.
LaCroix qualified for the Idaho State Class 5A cross country meet all four seasons at Lake City and finished 40th in the race last fall and was the top finisher on her team. She has a personal best of 19:59 in the 5-kilometer race.
In track, she qualified for the 5A state meet in the 800 and placed 14th in the race. She has a personal best of 2:29 in the event.
