NAMPA, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College’s Kaytlyn Coleman qualified for the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championship in the shot put at the Jacksons Open and Multi’s on Saturday.
Coleman, a sophomore from Kennewick, Wash., reached a school-record distance of 41-07.00, which was good enough for sixth-place overall at an event with multiple NCAA Division I athletes.
Coleman, who also took sixth in the weight throw with a score of 45-05.00, was one of a group of six LCSC throwers to compete at the Nampa meet.
Reece Uhlorn claimed fourth in the shot put on the men’s side with a throw of 44-02.00. John Murray finished second and set a program record in the weight throw with a mark of 51-03.75.
