LEWISTON, Idaho – Pauric McLaughlin and Kaytlyn Coleman of the Lewis-Clark State College men’s and women’s track teams, were named Frontier Conference Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Monday by the league office.
McLaughlin, a sophomore from Letterkenny, Ireland was named Male Track Athlete of the Week after winning the 800-meter run at WAR VI in Spokane Falls, Wash. on Saturday.
His time of 1 minutes, 52.02 seconds was tops in the 36-man field, and was a personal record, an LCSC record and the fourth-best time in the NAIA this spring.
As a result of his win, McLaughlin became the eighth Warrior to qualify for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships, an all-time high for the LCSC program.
Coleman, a freshman from Kennewick, Wash., was named the Female Field Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive time after placing fifth in the shot put and sixth in the discus at War VI.
She was the highest-placing Frontier Conference athlete in any of the throwing events.
