just misses earning spot in steeplechase finals

ST. LOUIS – Lewis-Clark State College’s Lindsay Szybura finished
eighth in her heat in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase during
the opening day of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships
and just barely missed qualifying for Saturday’s finals. Szybura,
who hadn’t competed in the race before this season, ran a time of 11
minutes and 45.96 seconds. There were two heats in the event and the
top 16 times from the two heats advance to Saturday’s finals.
