Kyli gained a lot of
experience during last year and was always among
the top seven runners on the team. Coach Mike
Collins says Astle is starting to build some
confidence in her running abilities and will be
very dangerous this season while playing a big
role in the success of the team.
PERSONAL:
Born Aug. 20, 1988 in Shoshone Idaho to Barb and
Brad Astle. She has one older brother, Brock,
and a younger sister, Taylor.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Chose volleyball over cross country in high
school and helped Shoshone to state titles in
2004 and ’05. Also helped basketball team to
state title in 2005 and a third-place finish as
a senior. She won numerous state track titles,
including the 1,600 and 3,200 her senior year.
She also placed three times in the 800, finished
second twice in the 1,600, and won the 3,200 as
a sophomore, and was second as a freshman. As
well as earning numerous all-conference and
all-state honors, she was the school’s Athlete
of the Year for 2002-03.
