throughout last season and wound up being the
team’s top finisher at the national meet. She
has grown stronger each year. She was the team’s
No. 2 runner as a freshman in 2003 when she
earned all-conference honors, but then was
sidelined by an injury the following season and
was forced to redshirt. She came back as a
sophomore in 2005 to compete and progressively
got better as the year went on.
Coach Mike Collins says
her attitude and personality help her to always
press to be in the front of every race the
Warriors compete in, which makes her an
important contributor to the team’s success.
Born June 25, 1985 in Forks, WA.
Parents are Andrea Perkins, Robin Leonard, and
Mike Peppers. She has three brothers, Zack, Carl
and Malcolm, and a sister Willow.
Qualified for state all four years in
cross-country and track. Voted most athletic in
her senior class, also was team captain of
cross-country and track team senior year. She
placed third at state in cross-country in the
fall of senior year. She finished fifth in state
in the mile and second in the two mile in the
spring of senior year, earning her the scholar
athlete award. Participated in Junior Olympics
and placed 19th at cross-country
nationals receiving an All American award, also
finished fourth at track nationals in the 3,000
during the summer of 2003. Graduated with a 3.9
GPA, and was a member of the honor society.
