LCSC women outrun Albertson and Eastern Oregon to take fifth

Emily Perkins’ strong showing lifted the Lewis-Clark State College women’s cross country team to a fifth-place finish in the college portion of the Bob Firman Invitational, held Saturday at Eagle Island State Park, near Boise. 

The Warriors topped regional foes Albertson and Eastern Oregon and only finished behind NCAA Division I and II schools in the meet, including the winner Boise State. 

Perkins took 13th overall in the 5-kilometer race in 18 minutes and 59 seconds. Teammate Kyli Astle was 24th in 19:23, while Jenny Jensen was 25th in 19:24. Katja Loevslett was No. 52 in 20:19, followed by Jenny Gulsvig in 56th at 20:21, Rosa Bautista in 57th at 20:40, and Rikki Glick at No. 75 in 20:53.
