Cross Country teams take second

SPOKANE
- Jenny Jensen and Kyli Astle (left) claimed
the top spots at the Runners Soul Bigfoot
Open, leading the Lewis-Clark State women's
cross country team to a second-place finish.
Jensen won the event with a time of 18:28,
two seconds better than teammate Astle.
"They both showed some real guts with how
tired they were," LCSC coach Mike Collins
said, alluding to the rigorous training
schedule the team has kept the last two
weeks.
The Warriors finished with 65 points in the
team standings, 16 behind Whitman.
The LCSC men also finished second in the
team standings, 27 points behind Community
Colleges of Spokane.
Calin Hantau produced the best L-C result,
finishing third with a time of 25:11.
The Warriors return to action Saturday when
they play host to a meet at Hells Gate State
Park. The first race starts at 10:30 a.m.
