The Lewis-Clark State College men’s cross country team moved up into the Top 10, while the women’s team slipped one spot in the NAIA Cross Country Coaches Polls, which were released on Tuesday.

The Warrior men climbed into the Top 10 by moving up one spot to No. 10 in this week’s poll with 395 points. The Warriors had a strong showing in the Charles Bowles Invitational meet at Salem, Ore., last Saturday in which they finished third. Southern Oregon, which is ranked No. 8, was second at the same meet, which was won by ChicoState, an NCAA Division II school.

Malone of Ohio received 19 of the 20 first place votes to remain at No. 1, while Azusa Pacific picked up the other first place vote and moved up one spot to No. 2.

On the women’s side, LCSC swapped places with Indiana Wesleyan in this week’s poll. Indiana Wesleyan is now No. 11 with 401 points, while LCSC is No. 12 with 392 points.  Azusa Pacific, one of four California teams in the top seven, took over the No. 1 spot with 14 first-place votes, while Cedarville of Ohio fell to No. 2.

The Warriors finished second in the Salem event last weekend, while College of Idaho, which is ranked No. 15, finished seventh.

The two LCSC teams are the only ranked cross country teams from the Frontier Conference.
