LCSC cross country teams fall one spot in NAIA polls
10/28/2008

Both the Lewis-Clark State College men’s and women’s cross country teams slipped one spot in the NAIA Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 polls, which were released on Tuesday.

Despite winning its own invitational last week, the men fell to No. 11 with 403 points. Olivet Nazarene, which was 14th in last week’s poll, jumped to No. 10 with 423 points.  Black Hills State of South Dakota stands at No. 12 with 364 points.

Malone of Ohio held down the top spot with 591 points, while Indiana Institute of Technology moved to No. 2.

In the women’s poll, the Warriors slipped one spot to No. 13 and was passed by College of Idaho, which is now No. 12.  In last week’s LCSC Invitational, College of Idaho edged LCSC by one point for the title. LCSC coach Mike Collins said following the race that College of Idaho would likely move ahead of the Warriors in the polls, but both should be highly ranked.

Cedarville of Ohio moved back to the top spot and drew all 21 first-place votes. Azusa Pacific, which held the top spot for the last two weeks, dropped to No. 2.

No other Frontier Conference teams received votes in either poll.
