Lewis-Clark State College men’s cross country coach Mike Collins has signed Nick Pierson, a senior at Coeur d’Alene High School, to run for the Warriors next season.
Pierson enjoyed a strong senior season for the Vikings. He placed third at the District I-II meet during the fall and then placed eighth at the Idaho State Class 5A meet with a personal best time in the 5,000 meters during the race.
“We are looking forward to seeing how he does this spring in track,” Collins said. “Last season he suffered with a lot of shin splints that hurt his performances. He obviously got this fixed over the summer. With a full year of running under his belt we believe he is going to be a great addition to the program.”
Pierson is the first runner to sign with the Warrior men for next season. LCSC finished No. 22 at the NAIA national meet last month and had only two seniors on the roster.
