The Lewis-Clark State College men’s cross country and track coach Mike Collins has signed Mickael Testa of France to run for both teams, possibly starting as soon as this spring.
Testa will enroll in the spring semester at LCSC, which starts in January, and will run for the Warrior cross country team next fall. Collins said Testa will sit out the indoor track season so he can make the transition to LCSC and Lewiston, as well as the running environment near sea level at Lewiston. Collins said there is a chance Testa could run during the outdoor track season in the spring.
“Even though his first experience with us here will be with track, Mickael has communicated that cross country is his true love,” Collins said. “He comes in with a very good running resume with personal bests of 1:58 in the 800, 3:59 in the 1500, and 8:42 in the 3000. As you can see he gets better as the distance gets longer and not only is his 3K personal best better than our current school record in that event held by three-time All-American Calin Hantau, it will be exciting to see what happens when we get up to 8,00 meters in the fall.”
Collins said Testa finished 50th in the French cross country national championships this year.
