Men cross country team adds fifth recruit
Lewis-Clark State College cross country coach Mike Collins has signed Alex Anderson, a senior at Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego, Ore., to a letter-of-intent to run for the Warriors next fall.
Anderson finished first or second in four of the six cross country meets he ran in during his senior year. He finished first in the Adidas Classic, an invitational race in Portland with 170 runners. He finished in a time of 16 minutes and 4 seconds over the 5,000 meter course. His personal best time for the season was 16:00.
“We are excited about adding Alex to our program,” Collins said. “He will be the third individual in the last three years that we have signed out of the Portland, Oregon area (Chris McConnell in 2007, Grant Eldridge in 2008) that has a great running pedigree and has the high character that we are looking for. We believe Alex has the potential to come in and have an immediate impact on the program. He has been continually improving throughout his high school career.”
Anderson finished 18th in the Oregon State Class 6A meet as a senior.
Anderson is the fifth men’s recruit signed by Collins for next season.
