Warrior men climb one spot
9/23/2009

Despite not competing last weekend, the Lewis-Clark State College men’s cross country team climbed one spot in the NAIA Coaches Top 25 Cross Country poll to No. 16 while the women’s team remained at No. 9.

In Wednesday’s poll, the Warrior men drew 294 points in the poll to stand five points ahead of Bryan College of Tennessee. Vanguard, at No. 18, is just six points behind LCSC.

On the women’s side, LCSC remained at No. 9 with 527 points, while Concordia University of California stayed at No. 8 with 527.

The top of the women’s poll featured some changes as Azusa Pacific became the third No. 1 team in the poll this season. Azusa Pacific drew 20 first-place votes for a 6870 total, while last week’s No. 1, Cal State-San Marcos, drew the other two first-place votes and fell to No. 2 at 663. The College of Idaho is at No. 6 with 566 points.

On the men’s side, the top three spots remained unchanged as Malone University of Ohio drew 21 of the 22 first-place votes to keep the top spot.
The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday for the Eric Anderson Invite at Spokane Falls Community College.
