Warrior men continue push upwards in NAIA poll
10/7/2009

The Lewis-Clark State College men’s cross country team continues to climb in the national rankings as they were listed at No. 11 in this week’s NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll, which was announced on Wednesday.

Ranked No. 14 last week, the Warriors have jumped five spots over the past two weeks thanks to a title win at the Eric Anderson Invite and a strong showing at Willamette last week.

At Willamette both the LCSC men’s and women’s cross country teams set program records for the fasted team times in a meet. The Warrior men finished the prestigious Charles Bowles Invitational in fourth and the women came in fifth.

Despite competing well last weekend, the Warrior women fell one spot in the poll and now sit at No. 12. The Warriors were passed by the University of British Columbia which jumped from outside the top 25 to No. 11.

The Warrior men are now just six points away from passing Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) and cracking the top 10.

Both Warrior squads will compete next at the Vandal Jamboree in Moscow, Idaho on Oct. 17.
