Both LCSC cross country teams go up a spot in polls
10/14/2009

Despite having not competed since Oct. 3, both Lewis-Clark State College cross country teams climbed in this week’s NAIA Top 25 Coaches Polls, which were announced on Wednesday. The men’s team cracked the top 10 for the first time this season by moving from No. 11 to No. 10, while the women’s team improved from No. 12 to 11th.

The Warrior men, who claimed first at the Whitman College Invite and the Eric Anderson Invite in September, collected 449 points in the poll and now sit only two points behind No. 9 Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.). Malone University remained at No. 1, while Southern Oregon University rose from No. 6 to second.

Azusa Pacific University heads the women’s poll that has Lewis-Clark State 20 points shy of the University of British Columbia and from being in the top 10.

The Warriors next meet will be the Vandal Jamboree in Moscow this Saturday.
