Mike Collins, the veteran men's and women's cross country coach at Lewis-Clark State College, was named the Frontier Conference' Coach of the Year for both sports, the conference announced.
Collins led the both teams to their third straight Frontier Conference meet titles on Friday in Salt Lake City. LCSC is the only school to win the meet in its three-year history.
Also at the meet, each team had its Champion of Character Award winners announced. The award goes to a male and female athlete on each team who best exemplifies the character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership. Winning the awards for LCSC were Josh Shrewsbury, a freshman from Kearns, Utah, and Jessie Gulsvig, a junior from Colorado Springs, Colo.
Both Warriors teams qualified for the NAIA national meet, which will be held Nov. 21 in Vancouver, Wash.
