HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Coeur d’Alene High where he earned three letters in cross country and two in track, and served as captain for both squads his senior year… Also was a pitcher on the baseball team and a guard/forward on the basketball squad… In cross country, he placed ninth as a junior in the Class 5A Idaho State Meet and then was eighth as a senior… He ran the second-fastest 5K time in school history and was a three-time MVP for the team… Qualified for state both years he ran track and his 3,200 relay team took fifth at the meet.

PERSONAL: Born on Dec. 12, 1990 in Coeur d’Alene… Parents are Jim and Gigi Pierson and he has a brother Matt… Lists his hobbies as running, outdoor activities, all sports, and reading… Had an uncle who was on the North Idaho College and University of Idaho track teams… Played on a Little League team that won the state title..
