Jacob Wimpenny, a senior at Post Falls High School, has signed a letter of intent to run at Lewis-Clark State College next year, Warrior coach Mike Collins has announced.
Wimpenny is the second Trojan to sign with the Warriors cross country program for next year, joining Keaton Trom.
Wimpenny was a member of the Trojans’ state qualifying team his senior year and was voted as Most Inspirational by his teammates. He also has performed well in the classroom with a GPA over 3.50.
“This attention to detail and learning also applies to his running as his high school coaches talked about how he reads every training article and method that comes up and is always searching for ways to make himself better,” Collins said. “We believe that it may take Jacob a year or so to adjust and develop into a high competitive collegiate runner. But we know he has the tools and desire to make it happen and are looking forward to having him with us this fall.”
