LEWISTON, Idaho – Out of 103 participants, Jerry Long claimed the title at the Hells Gate Duathlon at Hells Gate State Park on Saturday.
Long finished the 16-mile course in a time of 55:13.6. He was followed by Nathan Duncan and Sean Kato who finished second and third, respectively. Duncan clocked in at 55:28.8, while Kato ran the course in 55:52.5.
Lisa Heath was the first female to complete the course as she finished 18th overall with a time of 1:08.27.8.
At age 66, Nolen Noren was the oldest competitor to complete the course and he finished 35th with a time of 1:15.52.2. Jeremiah Garza, age 10, was the youngest finisher.
The event featured a two-mile run followed by a 12-mile bike ride and then another two-mile run.
