Lewis-Clark State College’s Kelsey Klettke and Dave Marks were the repeat winners of the Frontier Conference women’s and men’s cross country runners of the week, league officials announced on Tuesday.
The two are the only ones to have won the award, which the conference started this season. This is the second time the conference has honored runners for this season.
Klettke is a junior from Vancouver, Wash. She finished eighth with a time of 17:49 in the 5,000m race at the Willamette Invitational at Salem, Ore. In a field of 239, Klettke was the top finisher among conference runners and eclipsed her personal record on the course by 29 seconds.
Marks is a sophomore from Lake Oswego, Ore. He finished third at the Willamette Invitational in 24:13 among 290 runners on the 8,000m course. He missed second place by 1/100th of a second, but set a new personal best for that distance with his time, which is also the fastest in school and conference history.
The Warrior cross country teams are off this week and will be back in action on Oct. 16 in the Inland Empire Championships in Cheney, Wash.
