The Lewis-Clark State College cross country teams will host the Warrior Invite at Hells Gate State Park Saturday. The women’s 5-kilometer race will start at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men’s 8-k race at 11:15 a.m.
In the 2009 edition of this event, the LC women’s team captured the title by a landslide, placing five runners in the top 10. The men’s team placed second, finishing only one point behind Spokane Falls Community College.
The men’s team enters Saturday’s race ranked No. 15, according to the NAIA Cross Country Top 25 Coaches’ Poll released Wednesday. The men earned their top ranking of the season last week, coming in at No. 10, but slid in the poll this week after a sixth-place finish at the Inland Northwest Challenge last Saturday.
The women’s team remained at No. 23 in the poll this week following a fourth-place finish at the Inland Northwest Challenge.
