Jimmy Oribo, a member of the Lewis-Clark State College men’s cross country team, was named the Frontier Conference’s Runner of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Oribo, a junior from Kampala, Uganda, finished seventh overall, and fifth in scoring, in a field of over 240 runners from the NAIA and NCAA at the Erik Anderson Memorial Invite in Spokane on Saturday.
He ran the 8-kilometer course in 24:49 and helped the No. 12-ranked Warriors finish third overall out of 25 schools, well ahead of all other NAIA teams.
Note: The official results from the Erik Anderson Invite initially reported that the LCSC men finished fifth on Saturday. However, corrected results have since been released which show the Warriors claiming third overall, ahead of both Western Washington and Western Oregon.
