Lewis-Clark State College runners Jimmy Oribo and Sophie Bush were named the Frontier Conference men’s and women’s cross country runners of the week, league officials announced on Monday.
Bush, a sophomore from Newport, Wash., earns the award after have finished 38th out of 223 runners at last week’s meet. She set a personal best with a time of 18:38 in the 8K course and
helped the Lewis-Clark State women, ranked No. 19, to fifth-place overall. The Warriors’ bested a number NAIA teams including defending national champion Southern Oregon which claimed sixth overall.
For Oribo, a junior from Kampala, Uganda, it is the second straight week he has earned the honor. He set a personal best of 24:18 in the 8-kilometer Charles Bowles Invitational last Saturday to finish third overall and lead the No. 10-ranked Warriors to second place against multiple top-20 NAIA teams.
