The Lewis-Clark State College men’s cross country team was ranked No. 4 and the women’s team No. 11 in the postseason NAIA top 25 polls, the national office announced Wednesday.
With a few exceptions, the postseason rankings followed the pattern of the results at the NAIA National Championships held in Vancouver, Wash., last week.
The LCSC men’s program enjoyed its best finish ever at nationals by placing fourth, while the women’s team also had one of its strongest meets of the season and placed 11th.
Before the national meets, the LCSC men were ranked No. 7 and the women No. 16. Looking to next year, the Warrior men will lose just one senior from this year’s squad, while the women will lose three.
The Top 25 was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences/independents/unaffiliated groups.
