Warrior runners receive Frontier Conference honors
10/1/2012

Dave Marks of the sixth-ranked Lewis-Clark State men’s cross country team and Kelsey Klettke of the No. 11 Warrior women were named as the Frontier Conference’s Male and Female Runners of the Week, respectively, on Monday by the league office.

It’s the third Player of the Week honor of the young season for Marks, a senior out of Lake Oswego, Ore., and his second consecutive nod.

Marks finished third out of 255 runners in the 8K at the prestigious Willamette Invitational on Sunday with a time of 24 minutes, 46 seconds. He was the top NAIA runner in the field.

Klettke, a senior from Vancouver, Wash., received her second weekly honor from the Frontier Conference after placing seventh out of 199 runners at Willamette. She completed the 5K course in 18:06.

Klettke was also the Runner of the Week for the week of Aug. 27-Sept. 3, the first time the award was handed out this fall.

LCSC will host the Inland Empire Championship in Lewiston on Oct. 13.
