Wyatt and Fitts earn NAIA baseball
preseason All-America honors

Two
members of the Lewis-Clark State
College baseball team were selected
to the 2008 NAIA Preseason
All-America Team, the organization
announced on Wednesday.
Senior
outfield Brent Wyatt and junior
pitcher Matt Fitts were among the 11
seniors, three juniors, and one
sophomore who were honored.
Wyatt, a
5-foot-10, 185-pounder from
Kittitas, Wash., hit .357 for the
Warriors last year. He started in 56
games and went 76-of-213 with 15
doubles, four triples, seven home
runs and 52 RBI. He scored 79 runs,
had a slugging percent of .563, and
went 13-of-13 in stolen bases.
Fitts,
a 6-2 right-hander from Cloverdale,
Calif, earned NAIA second team
All-America honors a year ago. Fitts
went 10-1 with a 2.08 earned runs
average. He started 12 games last
year and threw two complete games,
including one shutout. Overall, he
threw 65 innings, allowed 46 hits
and 22 walks, but struck out 75.
Opponents hit just .198 off him.

Baseball Preseason Top 25 Poll will
be released next Wednesday. LCSC is
