Corban defeats Concordia 5-1

LEWISTON, Idaho – After
driving in three runs in
Friday’s win over the
College of Idaho, Trevor
Winsor threw a complete game
to hand Corban College a 5-1
victory against Concordia
University on Saturday.
Corban is now 2-0, while
Concordia is 1-1 at the
Regence BlueShield of Idaho
Tournament at Lewis-Clark
State College.
Winsor struck out seven
Concordia hitters and
surrendered only four hits
and one earned run over his
nine innings of work.
Corban used eight hits and a
Concordia error to put its
five runs on the board. The
Warriors scored two runs in
the bottom of the fourth,
and then tallied three runs
off of two hits and an error
in the bottom of the sixth.
Craig Spicer, Taylor Stiles,
and Josh Warner each had two
hits, and Tony Salamone had
a two run double for Corban
College.
Concordia’s only run can
from a solo home run off the
bat of Jimmy Rudig in the
top of the fourth. Rudig
finished with two of
Concordia’s four hits.
Both teams will play again
on Sunday as Concordia will
face the College of Idaho at
10 a.m., and Corban will
face the tournament host
Lewis-Clark State at 3 p.m.
