Keith Foulke

MLB
Career Recap:
Debuted in 1997 with the
San Francisco Giants. Later in 1999
Foulke was traded to the Chicago
White Sox, where he spent the next five years. At
Chicago he averaged an ERA of under
3.00 and was the “go-to-man” in their bullpen. By 1999
Foulke had established himself as one of the top
relievers, if not the top, in the American League.
During 2000 he was a member of the World touring
U.S. team, and in 2001 he
recorded a remarkable 42 saves (second highest in White
Sox history). With a myriad of other accomplishments
during 2002, Foulke recorded his 100th
career save on September 26. As a new part of the
Oakland Athletic’s roster, Foulke, in 2003, had another
stellar year and was named to the American League
All-Star Team. 2003 numbers include, a 9-1 record, 2.08
ERA, and a career high 43 saves. In 2004 he signed with
Boston. Foulke carried his
impressive 2004 regular season performance, into the
post-season and helped
Boston claim their first World
Series title in 86 years. He, in fact, threw the final
out of the 2004 World Series.
As a Warrior:
During his 1994 season with LCSC, Foulke went 10-3,
posting a 2.59 ERA, and 94 strikeouts.
