Lewis-Clark State Mens Basketball is #16 in NAIA Preseason Poll
"We are very pleased about being ranked #16," said head coach George Pfeifer. "This is the highest preseason ranking in the history of the mens program."
Lewis-Clark State finished last year at 20-9 and made it to the NAIA Sweet 16. The Warriors return four starters who all averaged double-figures in points. Jared Price (Gresham, OR), an NAIA Preseason All-America by Street & Smiths magazine, averaged 11.0 points-per-game and 5.3 assists-per-game. Jeremy Jeppesen (Centerville, UT) is the leading returning scorer, 13.4 ppg, and Ryan Bender (Shoreline, WA) and Issac Castro (Honolulu, HI) averaged 10.4 and 10.1 ppg, respectively.
"Being ranked is something you work in non-conference games and conference games," added Pfeifer.
Lewis-Clark State will take on one preseason Top-25 member, #8 Azusa Pacific, on December 16th, at 7:30 pm, in Azusa, CA. The Warriors will also host preseason #17 in the NCAA Division II poll, Seattle Pacific, December 13th, at 7:00 pm.
The Warriors officially open the season, Wednesday, November 8th, at PAC-10 member, Washington State University, at 7:00 pm. L-C opens at home on Friday, November 24th, in the first round of the Clearwater River Casino/KOZE Tournament against Northwest Christian College, at 7:30 pm.
