Lawson Named Frontier Conference Player of the Week
LEWISTON, ID-Lewis-Clark State College’s Sta’Fon Lawson (Lynwood, CA/Edmonds CC/Lynwood HS) was named the Frontier Conference’s Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending January 5th. This is Lawson’s second time being named Player of the Week (December 1st). A Warrior men’s basketball player has won the conference player of the week award in each of the last three weeks (Jason Brazier, twice).
Lawson, a 6-4 junior forward, scored 51 points in L-C’s three wins last week. He also recorded a pair of double-doubles (16 points-10 rebounds at Great Falls and 23 points and 12 rebounds at MSU-Northern) during the week. Lawson shot 59% (20-34) from the floor and grabbed nine rebounds per game, averaging 11 boards in the two conference victories. He also tallied 11 assists, including six at Great Falls.
Paula Owens of Montana State-Northern was named Frontier Conference women’s basketball player of the week.
