LCSC Men’s Basketball Adds Two Assistant Coaches

LEWISTON, ID-Lewis-Clark State College men’s basketball head coach George Pfeifer announced the hiring of two new assistant coaches. Tim Walker the former head coach at Montana State University-Northern and Andy Hill former Assistant Coach at Whitworth College. Previous assistant Jacob Wonders, who was with the Warriors for one year, had to resign his position for personal and family health reasons.

Tim Walker resigned his position at MSU-Northern where he was the head coach from 1997 to 2001. While he was at MSU-Northern he was voted Frontier Conference Coach of the Year for the 1997-98 season. That team set the school record for most wins in a season with 26. His players have a graduation record of 90 plus percent. A part-time Kinesiology instructor at MSU-Northern and a native of Absarokee, MT, Walker earned Academic All-Conference and All-Conference accolades. He played basketball and graduated from Rocky Mountain College in Billings,MT in 1990. In high school, he was named Montana Athlete of the Year in 1986. Walker is a part-time Kinesiology instructor at Lewis-Clark State College.

George Pfeifer on Tim Walker, "We feel very fortunate to be able to bring Tim to our staff, and the Warrior program. The breadth of his experiences are a tremendous fit. He has been a head coach, and has coached in our conference, and has done extremely well. The learning curve for who we play and what we have to do to be successful goes with out saying. There are not a lot of programs in our world the have anyone with the level of head coaching successes he has had on their staff."

Andy Hill has been involved in coaching collegiate basketball for the past four years. This past year he was an assistant at Whitworth College in Spokane and from 1997 to 2000 was the student assistant at Eastern Washington University from 1997 to 2000. Hill graduated from EWU with a 3.5 GPA (Cum Laude) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with a minor in Communications. Hill played college basketball at Walla Walla Community College.

George Pfeifer on Andy Hill, "It has been a long time since I have seen some one with the energy and enthusiasm that Andy has. In his young career he has had the great fortune to be around some excellent head coaches. His ability to communicate, and the people that he has gotten to know, will be a great attribute to our program. I can’t count the number of Northwest head basketball coaches who know him and have commented how lucky we are to have him."
