LCSC men’s golf team
captures title at Westminster

SALT LAKE CITY,
Utah – The Lewis-Clark State College men’s golf team
captured the team title in the fifth and final Frontier
Conference match of the season, but came up short in its
bid to capture the overall conference title on Tuesday.
The Warriors won
Westminster’s portion of the tournament with an 874
after firing a final round team score of 293 on Tuesday.
Rocky Mountain, which had a final round of 291, was
second at 877.
However, combining
the team scores from the previous tournament, Rocky
Mountain had an 11 shot lead over the Warriors entering
the final tournament. LCSC was only able to pick up
three shots, which enabled Rocky Mountain to claim the
over title.
Chris Kneen, a
freshman from the Isle of Man, won medalist honors for
LCSC. He fired a 5-under-par 67 on the final day to
finish at 6-under 210 for the tournament.
On the women’s
side, Rocky Mountain won both the team title and overall
conference title. Rocky finished with a 949 total, while
LCSC was second at 958. The Warriors also were second to
Rocky in the conference title chase.
LCSC junior
Juanita Villa placed second overall in the 54-hole
tournament with a 233 total after a 81 on Tuesday.
Both Warrior teams
will now participate in the Region 1 Tournament at Coeur
d’Alene next Monday and Tuesday.
