Scarbrough's
score came
after
Cascade had
tied the
game at
58-all with
12 seconds
left.
"We faced
some
adversity
and kept our
composure,"
L-C coach
Tim Walker
said.
The Warriors
had a
nine-point
lead with
seven
minutes to
go, but the
Portland
team charged
back to tie
the game
with Joshua
Garrett's
jump shot
from the
baseline.
The Warriors
then
inbounded
the ball
with 12
second left
-- deciding
not to take
a timeout --
and pushed
up the
court. After
the
Thunderbirds
deflected
the ball out
of bounds,
Scarbrough
drove to the
lane and was
fouled.
He made the
first shot
from the
line and
intentionally
missed the
second.
The Warriors
made just 6
percent of
their shots
from 3-point
range (1 of
17), but
they forced
18
turnovers.
"It was
probably our
best
defensive
game of the
year," said
Walker,
whose team
improves to
5-0. "We
made it hard
for them to
score."
Chris Pitts
led L-C with
16 points.
Scarbrough
chipped in
13.
The Warriors
beat Cascade
69-47 on
Nov. 4 at
Lewiston.
