Gordy named
tournament MVP; Pitts also honored

BILLINGS, Mont.
– Lewis-Clark State College junior forward
Mike Gordy was named the Most Valuable
Player of the men’s Frontier Conference
Tournament last weekend,
while Chris Pitts also was honored on the
six-person team, which was announced
Thursday by conference commissioner Mike
Walker.
Gordy, a
6-foot-7 transfer from the University of
Northern Colorado, led the Warrior men to
the title with three straight victories. For
the three games, he was 25-of-37 from the
field, 7-of-12 at the foul line, scored 57
points, grabbed 19 rebounds, and had five
assists, one blocked shot, and one steal.
He was joined
on the first team by Pitts, a 6-8
senior
forward, who was 15-of-25 from the field,
6-of-8 at the foul line, and had 36 points,
14 rebounds, three steals, three blocked
shots, and two assists in the three games.
Also selected to the first team were Danny
Reeder, Nate Sanchez, and Danny Stosich of
Westminster, and Dallas Leslie of Carroll. |
